THE IEA is supporting this new event aimed at improving awareness of big data analytics in the water sector.

‘Exploring a Big Digital Future for Water and the Environment’ will bring together the water and the environment sectors with technology professionals. In a workshop format attendees will explore what benefit big data analytics, high performance computing, cognitive computing, and visualisation can have in the water and the environment sector. This will develop a programme of hackathon style events for the CIWEM RCG.

It is the first time CIWEM (the Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management) has put on an event of this type.

It is aimed at professionals from across the sectors – water company directors, environment and government agencies, technologists, researchers, local authorities and engineering consultants.

The headline sponsors are IEA Partners STFC, and Atkins.

The IEA is a supporting sponsor alongside IEA Partner Centre for Ecology and Hydrology, as well as Defra, the Environment Agency, the Welsh Government, the British Geological Society, British Water, Natural Resources Wales and the UK Water Partnership.
