We are looking to grow our analytics team and seek entrepreneurial, talented and dedicated individuals to work on a range of cutting-edge projects with external partners.
The Institute for Environmental Analytics is an exciting new environmental “big data” analytics start-up venture, led by the University of Reading and involving partners from the private and public sectors. The IEA focuses on applied R&D and the development of innovative data applications and services in a range of market sectors.
We are looking to recruit up to two posts with strong data analysis and/or software development skills. Candidates may demonstrate skills in a range of areas, but we require at least one of the post-holders to have experience of weather-related data analysis and/or numerical simulation of weather or climate.
You will have:
- Good degree in a quantitative science/engineering subject, or equivalent experience
- Strong programming skills
- A creative mindset and a professional manner
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Additionally, we consider the following to be desirable:
- Experience of delivering outputs in a commercially-oriented environment
- Experience of the whole software lifecycle
- Experience of product development
The posts will be fixed-term for up to 30 months, in the first instance. Candidates wishing to work part-time will also be considered.
